A session on Digital Marketing

Following is her experience of attending a guest lecture at FIIB, and coordinating the session as the Emcee for the day.

Digital Marketing Session

” To give a holistic approach to the study of management and its fast changing trends, FIIB regularly hosts guest lectures and special sessions for the students to get acquainted with the right approach towards learning and preparing for the future. FIIB recently organized a guest lecture on Digital Marketing by Mr. HarmanJit Singh, a Digital Marketing professional working since 2009. Mr. Singh has executed a variety of social media and digital marketing campaigns for a diverse set of premium brands like Canon India and Wills Lifestyle among others.

During the session, Mr. Harmanjit Singh primarily talked about Digital Marketing Orientation and Career Opportunities in Digital Marketing, which caught the students’ attention as many of us aspire to be successful digital marketing professionals. I learnt a lot by the section where Mr. Singh talked about digital marketing in the Indian context and how one can use the Search Engine Optimization to benefit brand awareness and creating a social beat keeping the required social media norms in mind.

We also learnt about social media strategies and the need of paying attention to narrative, medium or channels of marketing, online customer interaction and planning of publishing and scheduling. We also learnt of the importance of learning from the social media case studies such as AirAsia ‘Friendsy’ competition. The session was not only interactive and informative but interesting and encouraging as well. We wish to attend more such sessions to improve our understanding of the study of management and its various streams.”
