My experience with Meraki 2015 at FIIB

During his Independence Day speech PM Modi said, “Economy boosts when entrepreneur aspires for new goals.” Following the same ideology, FIIB conducts a unique Business Plan Competition; Meraki which promotes and encourages young entrepreneurs from various B-schools across the globe.  During this 4th edition of Meraki, graduates from more than 500 colleges were contacted of which 182 teams registered with their innovative B-Plans. It was a tough task for our esteemed judges to select top 10 teams as the competition was more intense than expected; finally announced top 12 teams.

Being an FIIBian it is a pleasure for me to be a volunteer for this mega event. We went to various colleges of Delhi/NCR and invited students for this big platform that FIIB is providing to them. We personally invited colleges outside Delhi/NCR by phone and email. I was also a part of the calling team which turned out to be new experience for me as I got to learn about making calls and pitching things to higher authorities of various colleges which ultimately enhanced my interpersonal skills. In addition, I thoroughly enjoyed the various brain- storming session which helped in coming with creative ideas to spread the buzz about Meraki.

To celebrate and to appreciate the hard work of the Meraki team, the concerned faculty organised pizza party, which was quite motivating for us.

As the Meraki final is approaching, all the FIIBians are eager and excited to know who will be the next Meraki winner. On 31st January 2015 Meraki will come to an end leaving us with great experience and innovative business ideas.
