My Live Project experience at PaperBoat and Axis Bank

 Live Project at FIIB

I believe it would not be an exaggeration to call an MBA college a mini-corporate house where all aspiring managers get management education along with supportive corporate exposure. FIIB is one of the leading MBA colleges in India that provides best of the managerial education to students. For example, as a fresher I knew a lot about the art of management, but did not have any prior corporate work exposure. So, I could not relate things that I studied in the classroom with the world outside. However, a Live Project was my 1st step towards the corporate world.

At FIIB, my first live project experience as an intern was with PaperBoat, which manufactures fruit juices of various flavors. I promoted PaperBoat Gift Boxes(containing PaperBoat juices, Book and a Card) at a store directly to customers. Initially, I was clueless about doing it, like how to convince the customers, how to achieve the given target. But PaperBoat’s Marketing Head, Mr. Parvesh helped me sail through it. As this was my first live project, I did face many challenges, but the best outcome was that I learnt a lot from this experience. I could now implement some marketing concepts like customer engagement, customer delight, brand awareness and brand building etc. that I learnt in classroom, to my work. Though I still feel the need of more exposure to grow myself professionally. I was lucky enough to get the second live project opportunity with Axis Bank where I had to promote the Axis Pay UPI app to business merchants in Delhi NCR. Due to demonetization, Axis Bank came up with Axis Pay UPI app to make digital payments directly via bank accounts. So, to promote this app, every day I had to visited every single store in Delhi and convinced the business owners to use the app to accept payment from their customers. But this was not as simple as it seems. Paytm had already grabbed the market and it was challenging for me to make the merchants use Axis Pay. I had to convince them about Axis Pay being better than Paytm and other Digital wallets. This live project practically taught me sales negotiation, objection handling and B2B marketing. Now I can proudly say that I have some practical sales exposure that will definitely help me during my summer internship and final placement. I am now looking for some more opportunities to make my hold stronger in the Sales and Marketing field. And Live Projects at FIIB definitely helped me gain maturity, experience and the ability to connect different marketing concepts on field, which I am really thankful for. At a personal level, Live projects helped me improve my communication, confidence and the ability to handle things under pressure. These skills will not only help me in my profession but in my life too.
